The Ceylon Petroleum Corporation increased fuel prices with effect from midnight yesterday.
The Rs.2. per litre premium levied on petrol and diesel sold through retail outlets within Colombo Municipal limits was withdrawn. A litre of 90 Octane petrol now costs Rs.74, up from Rs.70 (Colombo) and Rs.68 (outside Colombo). A litre of super petrol (95 Octane) will be priced at Rs.77. The earlier price was Rs.73. Normal Diesel prices rose by Rs.2 per litre in Colombo, with a litre now costing Rs.46. Super diesel will be priced at Rs.51.30 per litre.
Kerosene will cost Rs.3 more per litre, at Rs.28.50. Furnace oil prices too have been revised upwards, with the 1500 Sec variety priced at Rs.28.30 per litre and the 3500 Sec variety at Rs.26.
